Community Resources

NAMI Johnson County (NAMIJC) is a resource for Johnson County and the surrounding areas. We offer a monthly Educational Program as well as NAMI Signature Classes and Support groups which are free to the public (see Support Groups and Meetings). We seek ways to engage our organization in community events such as the ADA Celebration, events organized by the Crisis Center of Johnson County, and we collaborate with surrounding hospitals and mental health organizations as well as other non-profits in Johnson County. NAMIJC also sends a weekly newsletter (via email) which informs the community about upcoming classes and events.

NAMIJC is part of the Johnson County Suicide Prevention Coalition which is a collaboration of individuals and families, nonprofits, businesses and governmental agencies working together to reduce both suicide attempts and deaths by suicide in Johnson County, Iowa. Coalition members seek to engage the public in suicide prevention strategies that increase awareness and access to quality resources through committee efforts and community events.

The R Place Peer Center welcomes individuals living with a mental illness from our community to engage with others for support and friendship. Peer Support Specialists are provided to help individuals with a variety of issues.

The following Community Resources include:

2015 Revised Tell Me Where to Turn

2012 Mental Health Emergency Roadmap
